Another week, another blog and fortunately one concerning food. What happens when you have little ingredients left in the kitchen and no food to eat. Yet there is also not enough money to eat out. Well, our current vice-president internal, Esther Utomakili, has submitted what she does to stay full at such times of the month.

Ingredients you will need are:
* Chicken (or meat or fish),
* Spices (e.g. curry, thyme, dry pepper and maggi),
* Some veggies of your choice (e.g spinach, peas, carrots, corn etc.)
* Rice and,
* Salt.

Steps to take are:
1. Spice the chicken
2. Boil the chicken till it is well done and while it is boiling, wash the rice and the veggies.
3. When the chicken is done, put the chicken in another plate and leave the broth in the pot
4. Use the broth to boil the rice
5. If you have any veggies that will need boiling to be soft, for example, carrots, wash it and add it into the rice while it is boiling.
6. When the rice is almost done, add in the other veggies that don’t need to be boiled, e.g. spinach and corn.
7. Add in the chicken!

And you are done! something simple with simple ingredients.

Remember that UWASA is pattering up with the one and only Association of Caribbean Student (ACS) to hold Afro-Caribbean Awareness Week (ACAW) and it is going to be awesome! You can find out about all the events taking place on the facebook page below:

Have a great week and we hope to see you at the events we have planned out!
